Mines Area

These are the mines of Lower Dorn's Deep.
Monsters: Fire Salamander, Shikata, Svirfneblin.
Areas of Interest
- Guello Salamanders as well as Guello (1467, 1040), a gnome priest, can be found here. Walk east along the tracks from the entrance to find him. He'll tell you that he needs to return to his people, lest many of them die, and will ask that you find and kill Shikata, the king of the salamanders, so that he and his people might escape.
- Shikata You can find Shikata (1221, 584) by walking east along the tracks from the entrance until you see a set of tracks leading north. Follow them as they wind north and then east until you come to a water wheel. Just left of the water wheel you'll see a passage that borders the northern edge of the map. Follow it west and you'll come to Shikata. Kill him and search his body to find a Spear +5, "Slayer" (6-11 damage, +5 THACO). You'll see a door behind Shikata, but don't worry about it now, as it leads to the palace courtyard. You'll visit there shortly.
After killing the rest of Shikata's minions, speak with Guello again and he'll thank you for your noble deed and you'll be award 80,000 XP. Do so quickly, as we tried to return to him after a few minutes had elapsed, and he had disappeared. This may be a game glitch, but it is also possible the whole thing is time dependent. Also, you will have to kill all of the salamaders on the map to complete the quest.
- Exit These two doors (2025, 895; 2389, 1021) lead to level two of the forge. Take the one in the extreme southeast corner, as it makes for easier nagivation.
- Exit This door takes you to the palace courtyard.
- Exit This door takes you back to the main area of Lower Dorn's Deep.
