Dwarven Mines - Drow Underworld
The drow underworld is the third level of the mines. A new foe awaits you in the form of umber hulks. These suckers have a huge amount of hit points, so taking them down will require some good fighting. The goal to this level is to make your way north killing all in your path. When you get to the top you will fight Ilivarra, the leader of the drow. She gives you some information about not being the cause of the evil plaguing the Sunset Mountains and then attacks you. Kill her, free Brogan and recall back to the camp.
Monsters: Drow Female, Drow Rider, Umber Hulk
- Starting Point: This is where you start the drow underworld and is the way back to level two. Kill everything and explore everywhere. Make your way northward.
- Save Pedestals: These are the save pedestals. Use them often and with multiple slots in case of disaster.
- Drow Camp: This is a large drow camp. Very tough battles are found here because of the shear number of drow. Kill all that moves and plunder as you go. Now head north to face the leader of the drow.
- Ilivarra: Ilivarra is the leader of the drow and not a nice lady. She insults you and informs you that you have no idea what is behind the evil in the area. Although she is extremely well built, you must kill her anyway. She is an aggravating enemy because she casts spells, summons undead to help her and teleports around the area making hitting her a pain. After you kill her, she drops a horn with a key attached. Grab that and head southeast to free Brogan from his cell.
- Brogan: Here you find Brogan locked in a cell. Turns out he is a Harper and was the eyes and ears for them in the Sunset Mountains. He tells you about a teleportation gate that leads to the Swamps of Chelimber guarded by a dragon. He marks your map with the way to find the gate, giving you access to the Dark Forest at the mining camp. He also explains that the horn Ilivarra dropped when you killed her is used to access the caves where the dragon is hiding. After you have heard all there is to hear, use a Recall Potion back to the mining camp and talk to Torrgeir. For clearing the mines of the drow, he rewards you with 3,000 gold pieces and 2,000 experience points. Now heard north to the Dark Forest.
