Castle Dungeon Level 3

This level is tough because of the horde of Olive Slimes you will face. The Luremaster is back to taunt you again as well. A word of caution: when you pull the lever described below, you can no longer go back to the other levels of the dungeon. Although this level has a tough battle, it is basically straightforward.

  1. Lever: This is a lever (1202, 1090) that you must pull to get out of the room. Once activated, the gate opens and the Luremaster appears.


  2. Luremaster: After you pull the lever, your party walks in the middle of the next room to meet the Luremaster (804, 782) yet again. He gives you the choice of dying in this prison or finding a way out. Of course you want out, so when you tell him this, he presents you with another riddle:
    "Your host was held unjustly while
    The lord so full of wrath and guile
    Demanded that this bard should style
    A tale to make his people smile.

    Suffer not your host's cruel doom,
    Use your time to flee this room.
    Shadowed dogs lurk in the gloom,
    And weave escape upon their loom.

    If we chance to meet once more.
    Your host will have a gift in store.
    Defeat our shades in righteous war,
    And we shall haunt this place no more."
    After this, the door that you came through closes and you are attacked by a whole lot of olive slimes, which are just about immune to any damage and can poison your characters. Fire damage works great, so use fire spells and arrows. Also, beware of the paralyzing traps in the circle upon which the Luremaster was standing. Once the battle is won, open the doors to the east and west for your chance to fight even more slive slimes and slime zombies.


  3. Treasure: There are three barrels in this room that you can loot. One holds a Power Word: Stun scroll (838, 448), one holds an Antidote (317, 623) and the last one has a Cursed Antidote (1267, 814) -- do not drink this.


  4. Hidden Door: This is a hidden door (552, 271) the Luremaster was referring to. Open it and head to the exit.


  5. Exit: This exit (1241, 145) takes you to level four of the dungeon. Get ready for some gem hunting.
