Baldur's Gate II | Walkthrough | Big Metal Unit | Silver Pantaloons
Silver Pantaloons - Baldur’s Gate 2: Shadows of Amn

This time it is not as easy. You must complete a quest for the Silver Pantaloons. There are two ways to deal with said quest, evil and not so good. For some players the evil path no big deal, for others it is. You lose two reputation points when all is said and done going evil. So just go donate at the local temple and get the points back. You get less XP going the not so good way but no reputation loss. Either way rejoice that you have the Silver Pantaloons!

After you have started Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn and imported your character from Baldur's Gate that has the Golden Pantaloons its time to find them again. You can reclaim your Pantaloons behind the trapped locked painting at X 3117 Y 2691. This is the room with the Jailkeep Golem. Now precede post haste to Chapter Two. Head to the Graveyard District and then to the grave at X 989, Y 669. Click on it and this will start the "Buried Alive" quest.

Graveyard

So that we do not spoil it for anyone, we will not tell you how to solve this quest. Lets just say that at some point, you should meet up with Lady Elgea at X 521 Y 354 in the Bridge District. As mentioned, there are two ways to doing this, evil and not so good. Evil: Tell her you will free her after you have received the ransom for yourself. Now, in the same room, read the note found in the cabinet at X 399 Y 225. It tells you to go outside the Copper Cornet in the Slums District after dark to meet Welther at X 2039 Y 2669. Tell him you are there for the ransom and take your reputation hit. Not so good: When you meet Lady Elgea, tell her that she is in no position to demand anything. Your next selection is that you have not made up your mind. Read the note in the cabinet and go to the Copper Cornet after dark. Find Welther, yet do not say a word and just use your theif to pickpocket him for reward. Return to Lady Elgea and let her go for less experience points than if you had just let her go.

Welther

You, my friend, now have a shiny new pair of Silver Pantaloons. Oh my! And what a fashion statement they are, as well.

Silver Pantaloons

You now have two of the three pieces you need. Again make sure you save both pantaloons for the rest of the game and have them in your inventory when you export your character for import into Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal.
