The designers at BioWare put in an Easter Egg spanning all three Baldur's Gate titles. The Big Metal Unit is the end result. To create the Big Metal Unit, you must aquire an item from all three games; Baldur's Gate, Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn and Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal.The items are the Golden Pantaloons in Baldur's Gate, the Silver Pantaloons in Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn and the Bronze Pantalettes in Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal.
The following guide will show you how to acquire and assemble the three pantaloons into the Big Metal Unit and its accessories. We give coordinates in this guide, which are the location of your mouse in-game. To use this feature, hit the following keys in game: BG1 the “L” key, BG2 and ToB the “X” key.
