Items

There are many items in Baldur's Gate besides weapons, armor and clothing. This section describes those items including Books, Gems, Necklaces, Potions, Rings, Scrolls and Wands. Many are magical. Others are just pretty sources of gold or much sought after quest items.

Books

Books in Baldur's Gate are used for far more than simple pleasure reading. These tomes can grant great magical boons to those who are lucky enough to find them.
Gems

Gems are scattered all throughout the Realsm, and represent a great source of wealth should you come across them.
Miscellaneous Items

There are always some items that defy classification. Look for them here.
Necklaces

Necklaces can be either ornamental or enchanted, with the latter being quite sought after by adventurers.
Potions

Potions are imbibed to grant magical effects that one would otherwise need a priest or wizard to confer. Quite useful.
Rings

Like necklaces, rings often grant magical protection or other effects for those who slip them on their fingers.
Scrolls

Fine parchment inscribed with words of magical power, scrolls can either be used to cast a particular spell, or can be copied into a wizard's spell book so that the spell may be memorized. Either use destroys the scroll.
Wands

Wands are devices filled with magical powers that allow their wielders to cast any one of many magical spells.
