Portraits

The game runs at a resolution of 640x480 or 800x600; to see these portraits at actual size you will need to change your screen mode. Two portraits in .BMP format are necessary for each character. Both portraits do not have to use the same image. The larger one should be called XXXXXXXL.bmp while the smaller one should be XXXXXXXS.bmp, where the Xs are replaced by a name of 1-7 characters in length.

Character sheet Main screen
110 x 170 (24-bit) 38 x 60 (8-bit)
110 x 170 pixels 38 x 60 pixels
16 million colours (24-bit) 256 colours (8-bit)

The main screen portrait uses less colour so that health/status information can be overlain. The following are a few examples of how this works.
