Rylar is 35 years old, he has green eyes and brown hair. When he was born the village seer told his Mother that if she kept him her family and everyone she loved would be cursed (yeah right!), so his parents left him in the woods one day. Rylar grew up with an old druid who lived in the forest.
When he was 20 years old he had already surpassed his master's skill with druid magic. His master then sent him to Baldur's Gate to find his way.
He has been adventuring ever since.

Ryndel Serralath, also known as Spider, is one of the more mysterious and elusive rangers to date.

Normally, Rangers are excellent archers and commonly wield the bow, but Ryndel is a definite exception. The only weapon he ever uses is a powerful Spider's Bane sword, handed down to him by his father as a parting gift. With it, he is immune to spells that bind him from moving and is therefore deadly to any Mage he may come across. Equipped with only Shadow armor, his trusty sword, and his wits, he lives the life of a woodsman; always moving, never staying in a town for more than a day.

Those who have encountered this man can recount his incredible - and often gruesome - tales of battle and freeing innocents from Spider Nests. He gets his unusual nickname from his uncanny ability to always defeat any giant spider he comes across, somehow knowing exactly when they'll be off their guard. Ryndel is known to also frequently bring in Ankheg shells to local blacksmiths, sometimes 10 in a bundle. He acts like it is a simple chore, fending off these huge insects and their deadly acid spray, and treats it like delivering a message. Ryndel never expects too much gold, and actually haggles with the smiths until he can get the lowest amount possible. Whenever he's asked about why he always wants to carry as little gold as he can, he replies, "No need for it. It's too much dead weight."

Needless to say, he rarely spends any time at all at an inn, preferring instead to sleep under the stars, sometimes in a wolf or grizzly bear shapeshift.

How Ryndel manages to escape the deadliest of spider encounters, no one knows. It puzzles many as to how one man, with one sword, can take down an entire nest and come out victorious, with only the occasional cut or scratch to show.

Ryndel has been moving towards the city of Baldur's Gate recently to rest before going into the treacherous Northern Realms, and to regain some contact with civilization. Whether he survives the perilous journey remains to be seen...
