Since Ry'lia was a young child, Ry'lia has been forced to survive alone - her mother having been forced to abandon her after it was decided by the council that it was too dangerous to allow her presense to remain within the clan any longer. She'll never forget her mother's final words before disappearing into the mists of Cloakwood Forest and out of her life forever:

"While it is not my will, I must do this. For if we were to return together then both of us will suffer dire concequences. There is more
to you Ry'lia and your lineage than you can possibly understand right now. But always remember to fight the demons within for you are so much greater than anything they can offer you. You might be a child of the god of murder, but Bhaal cannot claim a pure heart if it is constantly vigilant against his dark taint."

Shortly after Ry'lia was exiled, her inner demons came to her during her sleep. They offered Ry'lia great power and the chance to seek revenge against those who cast her out. But she heeded her mother's powerful words and fought them off using all of her willpower and inner strength. It has taken many months, but the demons within her soul have finally begun to withdraw into the deepest reaches of her mind. However, much doubt lurks within her thoughts as to how long she can continue to keep her demons at bay. Choosing to seek sanctuary, Ry'lia travelled from her homeland to Candlekeep in the hope of learning more about the truth of
her lineage.

Ry'lia never made it to Candlekeep however - a skilled bounty hunter captured her as she travelled down the southern path towards Beregost. Muttering cheerfully about the promise of great rewards for her capture, she was drugged and taken south towards Amn -
completely unaware of what fate laid paved on her future path...
