I do not have a name. No, I should say I have forgotten my
name. I do not have much memory about my past. But I do remember a name
- Jancy, she was my lover. The memory about her is so fresh but all of the
rest of my memory is so vague. I do remember that the last night I spent
with her. We were resting in the Cloakwood, after a deadly fight with a
band of Orges. The night was so silent. I did not feel comfortable with
this silence. I insisted to stand watch, however, she told me not to worry,
according to her lore as a ranger, although fallen, the night was peaceful.
I did not insist any more, for forest is her home, she knew it even better
than herself. Suddenly, there was a loud battle cry. It was those Orges.
They attacked again. Jancy and I immediately had our weapons in hands. But
it was too late. We were surrounded by around ten ugly orges. Jancy threw
away her longbow and started to fight them hand-in-hand. Although I was
a blade with my favorite weapons equiped, longsword and battleaxe, I was
too weak to stand this fight. I remembered I had two or three opponents
lying dead before me, but, I was seriously hurt. At this very moment, I
heard Jancy was calling for help. Before I could reach her, it was too late.
She fell down. I was dashing towards her body but a blow hit my head. I
did not know how long did I slept, but when I woke, I was in a bed, an old
man was before me, 'Child, are you ok?' I did not know him, or better to
say I forget. He was Gorion, my father, he told me that the Gatewarden and
the guards took me back from the Cloakwood, me and me only. Jancy's body
was lost. Gorion told me that my name was Seaniean....A few days went and
I wanted to search for Jancy's body. But Gorion told me seriously, we had
to leave. I asked why but he did not tell. When the night fell and we made
our journey to Friendly Arm Inn.
