XP, Feats and Ability Increases
The experience points necessary to attain new levels, feats and ability increases are summarized below. These are based on the 3rd Edition rules. New characters in Icewind Dale II will start at level 1 with zero experience points and can reach a maximum of 30th level.
Fighters and wizards gain extra feats when they increase levels. Fighters get a bonus feat at first level and every two levels after that. Wizards get a bonus feat at first level, then another at fourth level and every fifth level after that. Humans also get a bonus feat at 1st level. Multiclass characters gain feats according to their total character level, regardless of individual class levels.
