Wizard Spells
Wizards are respected and feared throughout the Realms for the powerful magics they can wield. These magic users draw their spells from several different schools of magic for a variety of wonderous, helpful, or deadly effects.
To learn more about specialist mages, refer to the Schools page. Characters will be able to cast up to 7th level spells in Icewind Dale and up to 9th level in Heart of Winter.

Spell Casting
To cast a spell, wizards must be able to speak the magical words of enchantment, as well as perform complex motions with their hands in order to bend the mystical energies to their will. This section contains more detailed information on the spell memorization and casting process.
