BG Scriptor is an application that makes it possible for all of us non-programmers to write our Baldur's GateTM NPC scripts easily. It has a Graphical User Interface that allows you to compose even the most complicated scripts without writing one line of code. BG Scriptor also has a full-featured script checker so that you can double-check scripts written by others before using them in your game. 6/15/00 I've made a couple of changes to the program, including a bug fix. Apparently, each time a file was opened the tree control on the left was duplicating its entries. That has been fixed, and the Turn() action has been added. Thanks to Black Adder for the heads up on this. 6/13/2000 Well, I'm back. And I actually have good news to report. I've made major progress on the next version of Scriptor, and a new version is now available for download! The latest version sports a new interface and all the scripting goodness of which I am aware. It should make scripting your characters a good bit easier, and will save you having to go back and forth to the scripting document. The zip file contains both the executable and a readme file. It's rather cryptic at the moment, but it shouldn't be hard to figure out. Let me know what you think. There will probably be more changes released in the next week or two, so keep watching this space. =) 12/14/99 Hey, remember me? I'm the lousy guy that started this thing and didn't finish it. =) I just thought I'd update the page to let you guys know that progress may be coming in the near future. I have made some preliminary arrangements to divest myself of some of my sideline business ventures. That means more free time for stuff I like to do - like writing script editors for BG. With any luck, my schedule should begin to clear up in a about a month, maybe two. Then I'll get back to work on this program. Watch for updates.
This page, program, etc. etc., ad infinitum, ad nauseum, brought to you by Brian Hall. The page was designed by Will Knight, who does excellent web design work. And I don't do excellent web design work. That's why Will did the page. |
