Character Information (long biography)
A true blood wood elf born in the rugged heartland of Cloakwood Forest, Ky'ena Bluemist was born not only with the natural grace and agility of the Elven race, but with an amazing ability in relation to the magical elements. Also by some trick of the gods, her ears did not possess the distinctive point that was common among all elves and half-elves: they looked unnaturally human in appearance. However she was accepted into the group that she lived with as if there was nothing wrong with her appearance at all.

From a very young age she learnt how to survive not only through the art of war, but through the ways of stealth that were handed down to her. Her parents were both skilled rangers and they were also part of the group's coalition who were entrusted with the job of keeping their land free of the numerous spiders that infested Cloakwood Forest. While they were out hunting, she would visit the Dryads of Cloakwood and spend her time playfully perfecting her skills of stealth through numerous games of what the human children call 'hide and seek' with the younger Dryads. It was around this age that her ability with the magical elements began to manifest within her...

The Dryads began to sense the magical energies that were manifesting within Ky'ena and their suspicions were confirmed when Ky'ena's eyes briefly blazed ice blue during one of her many visits. An idea was put forward to her by the leader of the Dryads of Cloakwood that she learn the art of magic as well as the art of war and ways of stealth. Ky'ena, unsure of what was happening to her agreed to the Dryads idea and she began to learn the art of magic from the leader of the Dryads of Cloakwood herself.

It was around this time that she met a daring young half-elf thief by the name of Angel Frost. Angel was roaming Cloakwood one day when she came across Ky'ena practicing her bow skills on a fallen tree. Not one to miss an opportunity, Angel attempted to steal the all of the arrows from Ky'ena's quiver. However just as she began to move into a position that would allow for maximum access to the quiver, Ky'ena spun around - her eyes blazing ice blue - and aimed an arrow within her bow directly at Angel's forehead. A moment in time passed by as they both evaluated the options that they had before them. Suddenly without warning, Angel unsheathed her short sword with amazing speed and sliced the head off Ky'ena's arrow. Then with an equal amount of dexterity she leapt away from Ky'ena into the bushes and was gone. Ky'ena couldn't helped but be impressed with her robber's abilities and she returned to practicing bow skills. Discarding her broken arrow, she reached into her quiver only to discover that nothing was there. The little thief had not only made off with all of her arrows, but her quiver as well! A quick search of her surroundings uncovered her empty quiver in the bushes and a trail of footprints leading into Cloakwood. Her pride wounded by the fact that she had been robbed by a half-elf who was more skilled in the art of thievery than she was, she set off through the forest following the trail that Angel had left behind.

After a few days journey she came to the trail that lay between The Friendly Arm Inn and Baldur's Gate. The trail of her robber stopped here, but where it finished it crossed a trail of blood and footprints which led from The Friendly Arm Inn to Baldur's Gate. With her suspicions running high, she followed the new trail towards Baldur's Gate. Not much later she came upon the remnants of a campsite and fallen Angel Frost: still grasping her bloody short sword and lying in a pool of blood. Ky'ena recovered her stolen arrows from the dying soul and was about to leave when something inside her stopped her. Threads of guilt began to worm their way into her mind along with her parents stern faces. They would never leave an injured being, no matter who they were or what they had done, to their fate out among the harsh elements. But there wasn't much that she could do since Ky'ena was not adapt with the arts of healing and there was no way that she could risk moving the injured thief. So she did the only thing she could.

Running back into Cloakwood she headed towards the nearest point where the Dryads of Cloakwood occasionally visited for water, praying to the gods that one of those elusive beings might be there. When she arrived at her destination, there was nothing there besides some of the animals that lived in Cloakwood. But she knew better than to trust first appearances. She walked to the edge of the creek, cupped her hands and scooped up a handful of water. Then she threw it as high into the air as she could. Within moments the wind caught the water and sprayed it into the trees. Within moments her efforts were rewarded as a Dryad within the trees revealed its presence to her. After a few moments of conversation in elfish, the Dryad agreed to follow Ky'ena back to the fallen thief and see if she would be able to help.

Angel was near death when Ky'ena and the Dryad returned to her. The Dryad knew that the half-elf's chances were fading fast and she immediately began casting spells of healing, one after another. While the Dryad's efforts were unable to bring Angel back to full health, they were enough to stop the bleeding and keep her in the realm of the living. Once the Dryad had done all it could, it said its good-bye and disappeared from sight.

Ky'ena having also done all she could for the thief, departed back into Cloakwood forest. Knowing that the thief would live to see another sunrise, Ky'ena's thoughts were at an unparalleled state of calmness as she made the long journey home. This would be one event that she would never forget...
