Tristan Starshire was born Tristan Silmerhelve second son of Tarkas
and Jelena Silmerhelve, a mildly important noble house of Waterdeep. Unlike
Many nobles who are raised in the countryside in sheltered manors, Tristan
spent most of his childhood at the Silmerhelve Villa in Waterdeep's Castle
Ward. As a child he was good-natured, with curiosity that often got him
into minor trouble, a trait he still retains. At an early age he excelled
at the martial skills most all nobles learn, and he has matured into a
tall broad shouldered man of twenty-three years. Despite his frame and
skill at combat he retains a youthful face, with bright eyes, a quick
smile and sandy brown hair that always seems to get in his face, he is
not always taken seriously by his peers. With little interest in City
or State politics and inter-house squabbles and his almost childlike curiosity
of travel and adventure he is not likely to be seen at court and only
begrudgingly attends the society gatherings his status demands. He is
much more comfortable in the inauspicious setting of the dock ward where
he spends most of his time seeming to be a jovial commoner and rattling
off story after story of adventures, his and others, in his favorite tavern,
the Copper Cup.
At 18 years of age he joined the Waterdeep watch, a task which he enjoyed
and also was acceptable to his noble parents. There he honed his martial
skills further, and in his second year Grand Civilar of the watch, Derek
Windsfire, selected him to join a crack investigative and paramilitary
unit of the watch, known informally as Strike section. In his time with
this unit he was involved in many adventures and battles in, under, and
outside of Waterdeep, delving into sinister plots, sewers, and undermountain
itself. It was in this group that he came under the eye of several of
the masked lords of Waterdeep, who continue to keep a stealthy eye on
him today. Currently Tristan is retired from Strike Section and the watch
entirely. He is focussing now on making a name for himself in the wide
world outside of Waterdeep of which he still has a child's curiosity,
the strength of a hardened soldier, the wits of a cunning rogue, and the
intuition of a plotting mage. If his flare for the dramatic and his naivete
of the world don't get him killed he will no doubt be a name well known
and well respected in the North and beyond. His best friends and companions
Onya Duon, a former member of Strike section; Arkus, a young mage tutored
by Laeral herself; Dartavian Bellwinter, a quick witted, Agile of mind
and bodied half-elven bard; Sorsha Phaulkon, a specially blessed priestess
of Mystra from an incredibly influential common family; Iluviel, a powerful
moonelf from Evereska; and Oliver Quickfingers, a lighthearted halfling
thief from the dock ward make up the band known locally as Music and Mayhem.
They have many powerful allies and Foes watching them with interest.
Stay tuned ;-)
