A barbarian girl from the northern peaks of Icewind Dale, Lyanya Firewind
has seen much hardship in the life she has lived so far.
Choosing to abandon her tribe after the death of her mother, Lyanya charged
towards death as any barbarian would - weapon first -
and took flight south through the Spine of the World towards the port of
Luskan with her god, Tempos, as her only companion.
Taking little heed of the dangers that awaited her throughout her journey
southwards, Lyanya's pride got the best of her and in her
carelessness she let her guard down and was captured by a large clan of
Orcs; though not without a spectacular fight in which she
slaughtered dozens of their ranks before falling herself to vastly superior
numbers...
Knowing the almost certain death that awaited her at the whim of the
Orcs, Lyanya increasing proved to be much harder to control
than the previous slaves captured by the clan. Finally, their clan leader
having had enough of her resistance, ordered that you be
given as a 'token' to a group of Trolls whom the Orcs had little love
for. However, Tempos' hand saved Lyanya from the grim fate that
was to be her end through the intervention of a powerful mage named Gorion,
who came to her aid and took her far from the
murderous rage of the Orcs. Gorion was a kind soul and in payment for
Lyanya's rescue he asked that she simply rethink the path
she had chosen. Then he was gone, leaving Lyanya with her thoughts. As
unknown as her future was, she chose to return to her
nomatic ways and wander the Sword Coast while she considered what the
true meaning of Gorion's words actually implied.
A few years passed and Lyanya remained true to your heritage through
her nomatic ways and to Tempos through the battles that
she fought throughout the Sword Coast during those years; losing some
of the few friends she made at those past battles. Word
had begun to spread of the uncovering of a Bhaalspawn named Saverok and
how he had almost brought about a war of sacrifice all
for the chance to strike his claim at the Throne of Bhaal. Yet the one
known as Saverok did not succeed, for it is said that he was
stopped by one of his own; another Bhaalspawn.
Lyanya did not know why, but something drew her into locating the mysterious
Bhaalspawn that ended the life of Saverok. While a
part of her is justly alarmed at this sudden impulse, she could not fight
the call. For the call is very strong indeed...
