Goldoran, or, as Imoen, his childhood friend and sister in all but blood
called him, "Goldie", was born in Candlekeep, but is bastard son of one of the many rich merchants in Waterdeep.

The Goldoran family go back a long way. Rhiannon Goldoran, his mother, was the daughter of the last of the Goldoran line, Edmund Goldoran. She was seduced by the avatar of Bhaal and became pregnant. Edmund, whose views on such things could be at best described as "swivel-eyed", kicked her out into the gutter. From there she stowed away on a ship but, when discovered by the pirates who owned the ship, was dumped onto "those nutcase bookworms" at
Candlekeep.

Gorion, out of pity, took her in. When the baby Ewan Evincar was born, Gorion knew him to be a Bhaalspawn. He thought about drowning the child at birth, but took it as a personal challenge - could he convert this Goldoran to the path of Goodness?

While "Goldie" is strong as an ox and has been known to swing into sudden violent outbursts, even when something goes slightly wrong, his biggest claim to fame is his beautiful bi-level mane of fine, gingery brown hair. He himself says that his Mullet, and vanity towards it, is his only weakness. He spends seemingly ages arranging it, and fellow travellers Imoen, Khalid, Kivan, Dynaheir and Branwen once "borrowed" his silver brush (carried around at all times) just to see the look of utter distress on his face!
