Only Humans can be found in this race chauvinistic party.

Carmen's father was killed by a band of renegade Orcs and Goblins when she was very young. But she was not too young to remember the horror nor too young to carry the fire of vengeance within her soul. Her mother sent her to be schooled by priests, hoping the more serene atmosphere would temper her anger. This background, coupled with her hatred of monsters and her newly found weapon skills, made her a natural Paladin. Although Paladins are Lawful Good, Carmen can often be fanatical when meting out justice to those who travel on the dark side. For this reason, few will travel with her. Her aversion to monsters also extends somewhat to non-humans, and thus she finds herself with only a pair of 'normal' companions.

Carmen is one of the few Paladins to specialize in Crossbows. In particular, she is searching for the Giant Hair Crossbow, which apparently does significant extra damage on a successful hit. Carmen likes extra damage; it makes her smile.

Even more so than most Paladins, Carmen lusts after the great sword Carsomyr, and will go to virtually any lengths to obtain it. She justifies her zeal knowing that the 'ends justify the means.'
