Explanation Page

Welcome to the Baldur's Gate 'All Classes Explanation Page' where I attempt to explain what I did and why I did it. Uh, what did I do? Well, I created saved game files for all the classes offered in BG 2. Yup, that's right---38 pre-rolled, pre-saved characters all available for download and ready to play.

But wait! There's more! You can download your favorite class right at the point where he or she just starts in Irenicus' Dungeon. All the tedious rolling and re-rolling of character generation has been done for you. Don't even have to go through the annoying initial introductory cut-scene anymore. (Well, actually, it wasn't annoying the first 10 or 15 times I watched it but after about 50 episodes, it did become rather tedious.)

And if that wasn't enough, there's even more! Are you tired of hacking and slashing through that first boring dungeon? Are you tired of trekking back and forth between the dryads and the genie just to get that stupid two-handed sword? Well, now you don't have to! I have also saved the game (with all your favorite classes) right at the point where the party exits the first dungeon. Your party starts in Waukeen's Promenade just fresh out of the dungeon and ready to take on steenkin' evil!

But no, we're not through yet! There's more!! Each of the characters generated has a small 'party line'--- for example, do you want to play a party with only Lawful Good NPCs? Then download 'The Good Guys' file and play Hezakiah Pearl, the Undead Hunter, as he leads his Lawful Good troop of Mazzy, Keldorn and Aerie against the minions of evil! The saved game file has already completed the first dungeon, completed Chapter 1 (in most cases) and collected all the party members you need, and discarded the NPCs you don't want!

Huh? What? Still confused? OK, let me try again. Found here (or somewhere near here) is a list of ALL Classes available in Baldur's Gate 2. Just click on a class you like and you will be taken to a page of downloads and descriptions of this class and character.

Each page contains three downloadable game files:

You will also find a downloadable image file (click on the character's image) that 'fits' the character. Of course, you don't have to use this image file but, gee, you don't want to insult me, do you?

Each class also has a 'Class Quest' which is unique to that class (with the exception of Paladins-all Paladins seem to want Carsomyr for some odd reason). Naturally you do not have to complete the class quest but the quest is keeping in character, so to speak, and some of the character's attributes and skills have been tailored specifically for his or her quest weapon.

I also have some comments on each page detailing some special notes or issues with that class of character.

Sound files? Sorry, too many classes, too little time...
